The role will support the Global Talent organization, with a focus on Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and broader Human Capital programming. As a senior communications professional, you will work closely with the Head of Communications for Global Talent, and senior leadership teams to create and execute communication strategies that promote our objectives, enhance employee engagement, and build a culture where every employee feels valued and empowered.
This role requires a visionary communicator with the ability to translate complex, strategic goals into compelling messaging that resonates with a variety of audiences, both internally and externally.
What you'll do in the role:
- Strategic Communications Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies in support of Morgan Stanley's Global Talent initiatives, aligning with the Firm's broader business goals.
- Storytelling & Content Development: Craft clear, authentic, and inspiring messages that communicate Morgan Stanley's commitment to its workforce, clients and communities.
- Develop content for multiple platforms, including internal memos, leadership speeches, video scripts, newsletters, and external media.
- Executive Communications: Support senior leaders by drafting talking points, speeches, and presentations for internal and external events related to Talent and Human Capital topics.
- Internal Engagement: Partner with stakeholders across the Global Talent organization, and other key partners across the Firm, to create and manage internal campaigns that promote awareness, participation, and understanding of Global Talent's programs and resources.
- External Communications: Collaborate with key partners, including Corporate Communications, Marketing and our Global Office of Sustainability to position Morgan Stanley as a leader in the industry.
- Crisis Communications: Serve as a key contact during times of organizational change or crisis, ensuring that messaging is consistent and aligned with the firm's values.
- Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies that drive awareness and adoption of core offerings.
- Metrics & Reporting: Measure the effectiveness of communications through regular reporting, feedback loops, and analytics. Use data-driven insights to refine and optimize communications strategies.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Experience: 8-10 years of communications and marketing experience, preferably within a corporate environment. Fluency in Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and Human Capital/HR topics is highly desirable.
- Leadership: Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale communications initiatives, particularly around employee engagement.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex issues into clear, compelling narratives.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with experience working cross-functionally and with senior leadership teams. Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic Thinker: A creative and innovative thinker who can develop communications that align with long-term business goals while responding to current needs and opportunities.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to D&I: A passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to champion these values through communications and storytelling.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
