About the Role

Team Profile:
Japan Special Situations Group (SSG) in Fixed Income Division provides solutions on difficult credit, whether providing market liquidity to holders of distressed debt, or new capital to companies in need of liquidity. We also bring in clients who seek to put capital into Japanese private credit. We aim to solve issues that may not fit the conventional mold. Japan SSG is part of the global organization under Credit Corporates, with footprint in locations including the US, London, and Hong Kong.

About the Role:
As a sourcer (dedicated sales for SSG), you will be tasked to manage deals. Your key responsibilities include the following:

-Market our business capacity to build new network among banks, corporates, and investment funds

-Source client needs on divesting illiquid credit risk or gaining liquidity

-Pitch potential solutions catered to those needs and collaborate internally to make them happen

-Structure and distribute risk to clients seeking to deploy capital into Japanese private credit

-Manage and build on key relationships over time

-Process various tasks at the desk such as client onboarding, pitchbooks, and deal documentation

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

-Client coverage and/or structured product marketing experience of 3-5 years, with background on corporate financing, advisory, M&A, or investment fund

-Good commercial sense on risk versus return

-Professional attitude and good self-management

-Team mentality and embodiment of MS Core Values

-Native-level Japanese for speaking, reading, and writing. Business-level English is a plus (we offer language lessons for anyone that would need one)
