We're seeking someone to join our team as a Senior Java Developer, Director, Technology in Prime Brokerage & Sec Fin Tech to have a very wide view of a bank's activities, across the Equity and Fixed Income Divisions, as well as Treasury. You will be interacting with front trading desks, operations, settlement teams across the region and globally.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Software Engineer III position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:
• Contribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives.
• Interact regularly with team members and occasionally leadership on a range of topics.
• Daily we are responsible for supporting the secured financing trading and collateral management systems for our Client Financing and Bank Resource Management businesses.
• We manage all incidents across our platforms and take any follow-up actions necessary to ensure system stability. We work closely with traders, operations, and engineers daily.
• Aside from production monitoring, we develop solutions for business problems in various technologies with support from our global team of experts. We try to maintain 30/70 split between support and project work.
• You will work with various technologies including Java, Python, Angular, C++, Linux, and SQL.
• Our people have complete product ownership: requirements, code, test, and deploy. We run a low friction SDLC where you learn from peer code review. You will help us towards our goal of continuous build and automated deployments.

What you'll bring to the role:
• Ability to process information, translate into plans and present summaries to stakeholders. -Experienced understanding of business line and discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on Core Java, Spring development experience working in a distributed environment.
• Hands-on experience with a RDBMS (Sybase, Oracle...).
• Strong communication skills - as regular coordination with our global team is essential.
• Self-motivation to learn about new businesses and ownership of support issues and development projects.
• Ability to work under pressure, as outages in our businesses are very time sensitive.
• HTML5/Angular development.
• Financial services experience.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
• At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
