Team Description:

Trading Risk Governance within the ISG Central Risk Team (1LoD) is responsible for risk limit monitoring and trading risk signoff governance functions within Morgan Stanley.

The team partners with internal and external control groups to understand business needs and their associated risks, execute on practical solutions, and maintain a global governance, communication, and awareness strategy that underscores a culture of control excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

This specific role is to be part of the BU Limit Governance Team focused on governance and oversight of the Firm's Risk Limit Framework. The candidate would be expected to undertake a wide range of duties, often having to manage multiple tasks with frequent changes to priorities.

Key responsibilities include supporting the daily activities and initiatives of the group, such as:
  • Running day-to-day processes of the Limit Governance Program which includes monitoring compliance through investigation of alerts, escalation of exceptions to policies and assisting with their resolution
  • Monitoring and tracking key metrics and assisting in the design and implementation of reports
  • Preparing materials for senior management at the ISG Limit Governance Committee
  • Coordinating and prioritizing tasks with team members in New York and London
  • Working with first and second line stakeholders to maintain and manage the Limit Framework
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements of the existing control framework and participate in projects to enhance controls
  • Maintaining the policies and procedures in line with evolving standards
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support continuous improvement of governance processes

Skills Required
  • Management Graduate/ Master's in Commerce
  • 3-6 years with a background in Compliance, Risk Management, Trade surveillance and / or Trading Support focusing on sales and trading issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong risk and control mindset, displaying sound judgment
  • Ability to anticipate issues ahead of time and escalate as appropriate
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills with ability to communicate complex topics effectively
  • Sound analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Sensitivity to detail and accuracy in everyday work
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
