Primary Responsibilities
Description
Morgan Stanley is seeking an application support Analyst to join our ISG Data Management team to help manage quantitative data products through a global application platform. The candidate will work closely with various teams including subject matter experts to assist in client onboarding/entitlement and level 1 support. The candidate will also coordinate with technology and cross-divisional data teams to help identify root cause for client issues
Job responsibilities
• Client Onboarding, client entitlement and product support for clients and internal users of data products
• Coordinate with technology teams to design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems
• Help create and evolve data standards and product documentation
Skills required (essential)
Technical Qualifications
• Experience with using data profiling tools to query data, identify anomalies, gaps and issues
• Experience working with data in various forms: files (Excel, csv...), relational databases, data warehouses, unstructured data environments (HIVE, Impala)
• General awareness of data management best practices, emerging trends, and challenges
• Experience and/or exposure to financial data; experience with datasets commonly used in investment Research analysis (both macro and Equity) preferred
Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Python/Power BI/SQL
• 2+ years' experience in financial services/Application support role
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills; able to decompose complex problems and projects into manageable pieces; comfortable suggesting and presenting solutions
• Comfortable working in a large organization and interfacing with a broad set of stakeholders across various functions (i.e., Business, IT, Operations)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills presenting complex analytical results to both technical and non-technical audiences
