We're seeking someone to join our team as a Security Settlement Director based in Hong Kong supports all Business Units globally for their transaction's settlement. The team mainly covers Equity products and Fixed Income products for Hong Kong market and related Connect Scheme, for example China Stock Connect and Bond Connect market.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo. This is a Director level within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products.

What you'll do in the role:
- Handle equity and fixed income settlements in HK equity, China A stock Connect, CMU and Bond Connect market
- Investigate and resolve settlement exceptions
- Perform reconciliation to ensure firm books and records match with external banks and central depository's record
- Communicate with counterparty (broker and custodian) to resolve settlement issue
- Handle physical certificate deposit or withdrawal request
- Process ADR conversion, cross board conversions, etc
- Follow up on IPO syndicate deals, EIPO subscription and corresponding settlement
- work on Regulatory Reporting
- Work on Process Improvement
- Work on New Product Approvals and Business enablement
- Oversight the offshore vendor team
- Be trustworthy partner to Business and Stakeholders, offer efficient solution and valuable insight
- Partner with Technology to improve process and deliver new business initiatives
What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelors degree
- Self-motivated, lead by example, work with drive and determination
- Product and operational knowledge / experience in cash equities is preferred
- Strong risk awareness, ability to identify the issue, question the process and escalate properly
- Strong communication skills, be able to interact and communicate effectively both internally and externally, including business unit, Exchange and senior management teams
- Be able to handle multi-tasks under pressure
- Adaptable and flexible to changes and new challenges
- Ability to set out / apply up to date knowledge and best practices to develop solutions that add value to the firm and our clients
- Ability to identify areas for process improvement to improve the control and efficiency of the process
- At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
