Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

Background on the Position
The role resides with the Firm Risk Management's U.S. Banks Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Team. The ERM Vice President role is focused on data and concentration risks including relevant policies & procedures. The role includes responsibilities for oversight of Firm and U.S. Banks activities to enhance compliance with BCBS 239 (Risk Data Aggregation) including participation in relevant governance forums and providing status reports to senior risk management, and quarterly reporting on concentration risks across each of the U.S. Banks.

Primary Responsibilities
The role offers an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders in Firm Risk Management (FRM), Non-Financial Risk (NFR), Institutional Securities Group (ISG), Wealth Management (WM) and with others who support these U.S. Banks activities. The VP will drive ongoing enhancements to the data and concentration risk programs in collaborations with senior stakeholders across the enterprise:
>Collaborate with stakeholders on enhancements to BCBS 239 compliance in the U.S. Banks.
>Review & challenge firm activities supporting enhanced BCBS 239 compliance.
>Establish plans to achieve material BCBS 239 compliance and provide ongoing status reports.
>Coordinate the quarterly concentration risk assessment and reporting with inputs from across the U.S. Banks risk stripes.
>Maintain policies & procedures consistent with OCC Heightened Standards and in response to regulatory guidance.
>Represent US Banks ERM in data quality and BCBS 239 governance forums.
>Coordinate with stakeholders on the annual RDA Self-Assessment to evaluate US Banks state of compliance with BCBS 239
>Oversee development of data quality tooling to capture ERM reporting metrics.
>Coordinate and deliver on ad-hoc requests, including creating presentations for senior management and regulators Experience
>Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 7+ years of full-time experience, preferably in risk management, data governance, or technology management.
>Experience working to influence stakeholders and build consensus across functional areas to achieve long-term objectives
>Strong written communication skills, preferably including policies and procedures
>Strategic thinker with the confidence to take ideas forward and to challenge others, where appropriate
>Understanding of banking regulation in relation to risk management, specifically OCC Heightened Standards
>Experience with coaching and mentoring junior staff to develop their skills and leadership abilities.
>Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize with strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel)
>Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and work ethic
>Ability to adapt in response to changing circumstances and work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and under strict and changing deadlines

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
