Department Profile
Professionals within Legal and Compliance provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses.

Background on the Team
The Global Regulatory Affairs Program Office serves as a leader and executive sponsor for the firm's global regulatory affairs and change management efforts, a definitive voice and source of regulatory interpretation, both internally and externally, and drives proactive internal regulatory strategy and external communication. Among other things, the team is currently managing the Firmwide implementations of the US Treasury Clearing mandate, Margin-regulations (e.g., Security Based Swaps and regional Uncleared Margin) and certain ESG projects.

Primary Responsibilities
The Regulatory Affairs Program Office is responsible for spearheading the team's organizational, advocacy and implementation efforts through effective program management, delivering on the operating strategy, and improving transparency through comprehensive management reporting.

Responsibilities include:
-Provide implementation program management and leadership to key regulatory programs/initiatives
-Engage with Business Unit embedded programs to provide regulatory expertise, monitor progress, escalate issues and address constraints
-Manages status reporting and communication across programs, including regulatory dashboard and weekly communication to senior management
-Assist coverage attorneys to gather and analyze impacts of proposed and finalized regulations
-Identify areas of regulatory and program intersection, including potential gaps/conflict and path to resolution
-Provide overall support to Global Head of Regulatory Affairs
-Manage/oversee contingent resources

Skills required (essential)
-5+ years of experience in financial services, management consulting (e.g., big four) and/or project management
-Candidates must be self-motivated, independent and organized
-Strong communication, presentation and project/program management skills
-Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint

Skills desired
-Project Management Professional (PMP) or other Project Management (PMI) certification

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000.00 and $190,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
