This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

About The Team

The Equity Investments and Client Activities team at Parametric:
  • We are building financial software that solves some of the world's most complex financial opportunities. This includes building solutions to provide customized direct index exposure while making tax sensitive asset selection to improve overall after-tax portfolio returns.
  • We design and build financial software responsible for the account life cycle that starts with the onboarding of accounts, managing all client activities and investment instructions, and finally managing equity investment accounts as scale.

We are looking for individuals that have a strong curiosity and passion for learning new things, while continuously challenges oneself to build things better and more scalable.

The Software Engineer on the Equity Investments and Client Activities team is a hands-on contributor who plays a critical role in building tools to support portfolio management and culture of data-driven enhancements to our process.

primary responsibilities
  • Develop new and maintain existing line-of-business applications; strives to develop with high coding standards, thinking about testability and engineering excellence.
  • Utilize and contribute to internal Python and R libraries that support our business activities.
  • Work closely with the business unit and other team members to understand and document requirements.
  • Learn and contribute to applications across the entire stack (backend, DB, front end, UI).
  • Perform work in an agile environment and handle rapid iteration to the UI and design.
  • Create unit/integration/functional tests.
  • Follow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriate.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job QUALIFICATIONS

SkILL SET

Required Experience: 4+ years.

Skill Set: R / Python / VBA / SQL / GraphQL / JavaScript / REST / Docker / OAuth / Software Development / Big Data

primary Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree (4-year degree) in Computer Science/Engineering, or similar required.
  • 4+ years of software development experience as an individual contributor.
  • Programming experience in Python or R required, preferably both.
  • Hands on experience developing applications using Python or R.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge required.
  • Understanding of big data ecosystem is required.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and web service integration.
  • Experience writing SQL or GraphQL queries required.
  • Experience using version control systems (Git).
  • Programming experience in VBA strongly preferred.
  • Cloud native development experience a plus: AWS is preferred, but not required.
  • Web development experience is a plus but not required.

Good to have Skills
  • Financial industry experience specially in top tier G-SIFI.
  • Experience with quantitative modeling, optimization, simulation, portfolio management and portfolio construction.
  • Should be able to challenge BAU.
  • Logical in approach and successful in a startup environment.
  • Ability to understand business requirement and convert that into technological implementations.
  • Quick learner, helpful, dependable & innovative.
