Technology Delivery Management

The Technology Delivery Management team is responsible for program management, project management and leading execution for various initiatives within MSWM. The team leads critical management efforts related to the complete lifecycle of the programs and projects. The team is well structured with right mapping of projects teams supporting multiple Wealth Management Technology teams. The team closely works with the Business on putting together project plans, determining scope, securing the related funding, and then collaborates with the development teams to execute and deliver the projects. The team is also responsible for efficiently managing the project (both through Waterfall, Agile methodologies) and carries out cross-team networking and interactions to remove impediments.

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to support multiple critical projects and initiatives within the Technology Delivery Management team. As part of this role, the candidate will work closely with all key stakeholders to successfully steer towards successful project outcomes. The candidate will work on multiple technology projects and work initiatives supporting the Business. The candidate will work with all the core development teams and other support teams to drive efficient planning and execution. Understanding business demands will benefit in making informed decisions in all areas for the team. It is important to stress that strong interpersonal skills, embodying Morgan Stanley's core values and team spirit are required for this role. The ability to proficiently deliver verbal and written communications will also be required. This is a team that works extensively with other IT members in all MSWM locations. This job demands strong work ethic and requires extensive hands-on, active participation.

The candidate brings knowledge of program management best practices, experiences in collaboration across complex organizations, and creativity with removing impediments and ensuring team progress towards their missions and deliverables. Candidate should be able to work in a dynamic environment with limited or no supervision. Candidate should be know how to manage their time and be comfortable with working with cross functional teams on multiple initiatives in different time zones.

Job Responsibilities
• A change agent with a passion for collaboration to support our teams and deliver exceptional output
  • In depth knowledge of strategic initiatives in program and business roadmap
  • Manage complex programs that span across multiple technology teams and applications. This includes management of schedule, budgets, risk, etc.
  • Solution oriented - brings together subject matter experts and other stakeholders to bring about solutions, and advise business partners
  • Status reporting to business partners and senior management
  • Work with central PMO, DPRM, Business Management to meet firm tracking requirements for initiatives
  • Plan and manage relevant meetings with key stakeholders across dependencies, Business and Technology teams
  • Monitor team performance through the metrics dashboards and help identify continuous improvement opportunities to support the team to work smarter, and more effectively
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and dependent teams on solutions to address challenges and roadblocks
  • Follow Change Management Release processes for deployments
  • Monitor deployments during releases
  • Identify and analyze opportunities and make tactical/strategic recommendations
  • A continuous improvement mindset and dedication to finding creative ways of working
  • A dedication to cross-function collaboration, communication and breaking down of silos
  • Self-motivated with exceptional oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Required Qualifications

  • At least 8-10 years of Program Management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to resolve impediments to meet all deadlines
  • Strong communications skills with ability to liaise with diverse groups (tech, ops, business, etc.)
  • Financial management and forecasting
  • Highly skilled in project management and Microsoft tools, including JIRA, Microsoft Project, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Visio, and SharePoint
  • Experience in working with agile and deployment lifecycles and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g. JIRA, Rally, Jira Board, Release Change Management
  • Hands on project management approach that includes a proven track record of project execution

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in working on technology projects with successful delivery experience in the Financial Services domain

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
