The Institutional Securities Group (ISG) has established an ISG Data Group (IDG) to provide a single point of accountability for the full spectrum of data related initiatives. This ranges from the defensive risk reduction aspects of data security (both internal and external), through operational effectiveness from improving data quality, to helping enhancing revenue through further leveraging our data assets for providing services to our clients.

The position available is an Associate level position within IDG. This position is focused on coordinating with the Firm's Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Reporting team and managing IDG's coverage of risks within the Integrated Non-Financial Risk Assessment (iNFR-A) tool.
Given that iNFR-A is a new tool for the Firm, the individual will help to align IDG-mandated standards across ISG Divisions for the following risk areas: (1) Information Security, (2) Information Management, (3) Privacy, (4) Data Quality, (5) Cyber. Fundamental understanding of these risks areas and their relevancy across ISG businesses will be critical in keeping the standard intact as businesses submit their first Assessments in Q4 2025.
Once Assessment data outputs are available within the iNFR-A tool, the individual will be responsible for analyzing the data related to the key IDG risk areas outlined above. Insight into how businesses have self-assessed risk (with IDG guidance) and understanding the impacts of those risks will be critical in driving ISG risk management strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with NFR Reporting team and learning to use the iNFR-A tool
- Championing the Minimum Standards ISG as defined in 2024 related to the following risk areas: (1) Information Security, (2) Information Management, (3) Privacy, (4) Data Quality, (5) Cyber
- Liaising with business risk management teams (Business Control Units) to ensure Minimum Standards are reflected in their annual Assessments submitted in iNFR-A
- Preparing analysis based on risk data populated within the iNFR-A tool
- Providing business requirements to further enhance iNFR-A reporting capabilities
- Understanding IDG & business controls related to the following risk areas: (1) Information Security, (2) Information Management, (3) Privacy, (4) Data Quality, (5) Cyber
- Helping shape control alignment / cleanup process from Firm control repository (CILA) vs mapping to risks in iNFR-A tool
Requirements:
- Min. 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, with preference for Engineering or related studies
- Familiarity with RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment) framework and process "or"
- Experience in Risk Management functions or Data Protection / Data Management functions "or"
- Experience with Risk Assessment, Risk Reporting, Risk Monitoring "or"
- Familiarity with information security, information management, privacy, data quality, and/or cyber-related risk management
General Experience / Skills Preferred:
- Team player who can effectively collaborate across diverse teams
- Project management skills and proven ability to move projects through to completion in a complex environment, ideally within capital markets
- Excellent oral and written communication skills by clearly articulating objectives, requirements, risks and issues
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows and leverage Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
- Ability to identify and escalate issues effectively and appropriately
- Exceptional organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail
- Ability to discuss in-depth technology initiatives and ability to work closely with technology teams
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to take ideas forward and to challenge others with integrity and maturity
- Experience in Business Intelligence and Data Profiling Tools is a plus (PowerBI, Alteryx)
