Position Description:
Model Control within the ISG Central Risk Team (1LoD) is responsible for the Global Model Control, Algo Trading Governance functions within Morgan Stanley.
The team partners with internal and external control groups to understand business needs and their associated risks, execute on practical solutions, and maintain a global governance, communication, and awareness strategy that underscores a culture of control excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
This specific role is part of the BU Model Control Team focused on governance and oversight of the Firm's Model Risk Management Framework. The candidate would be expected to undertake a wide range of duties, often having to manage multiple tasks with frequent changes to priorities.
The primary responsibilities include supporting the daily activities and initiatives of the group, such as:
- Assisting the global team in the day to day governance processes which includes coordinating projects with key stakeholders, prepping meeting materials, tracking follow-ups and hosting meetings to facilitate ongoing dialogue and transparency Monitoring compliance with Policy through investigation of alerts, escalation of exceptions to policies and assisting with their resolution
- Tracking key metrics and assisting in the design and implementation of reports
- Assisting key stakeholders in the implementation of procedures ensuring consistency of framework across all business units
- Identifying opportunities for improvements of existing governance framework and participate in projects to enhance processes
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to support continuous improvement of the governance processes
Skills Required
- Management Graduate/ Master's in Commerce
- 6-9 years with a background in Compliance, Risk Management, Trade surveillance and / or Trading Support focusing on sales and trading issues
- Exposure to financial markets
- Exposure to non-financial risk and controls
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to balance various initiatives and deadlines simultaneously
- Initiative and ability to facilitate communication across departments
- Sound analytical and critical thinking skills
- Sensitivity to detail and accuracy in everyday work
- Advanced Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint etc) skills
