Our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Advisory Group devises and executes innovative, customized solutions to our clients' most challenging issues. The M&A team excels in domestic and international transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, re-capitalizations, spin-offs, exchange offers, leveraged buyouts and takeover defenses as well as shareholder relations. Morgan Stanley applies its extensive experience with global industries, regions and banking products to meet our clients' short- and long-term strategic objectives.

The successful analyst/associate candidates for M&A Advisory Group will have a strong desire to succeed and a high degree of teamwork, integrity, logical thinking, and business understanding are required. In case of analyst candidates, while several years of experience in finance is not necessarily expected at this level, the candidate will be working closely with others whose experience ranges from new graduate to those with 2 to 3 years of direct relevant experience. In case of associate candidates, direct experience more than 2 years would be required but we can discuss variety of candidate's experience. To succeed, he or she should be able to work effectively even under time pressure and be very comfortable working with financial analytics and presentations.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements

The candidate will need to be fluent in English with a strong academic background. Suitable candidates will require the following skills, but we are flexible to discuss these requirements:
  • Fluency in both Japanese (native level) and English language
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills that put you at ease with financial data
  • Results driven and able to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Proven team player with the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas simply and summarize them effectively in your speaking and writing
  • Committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
