The Cyber, Data, Risk and Resilience (CDRR) organization within Technology at Morgan Stanley, provides first-line defenses for information and cyber security, fraud, resilience, response and recovery, and technology risk and controls. The organization also includes Morgan Stanley's Firmwide Data Office, International Technology offices, and the Non-Financial Risk Technology organization. The combination of these groups, in close partnership with the business and technology teams, enhance the resilience of the Firm, address the complex and continuously evolving threat environment, drive compliance with policy and regulatory requirements, and ensure data governance, quality and security.

The Cybersecurity and Developer Enablement Org is seeking a Lead Software engineer to help build modern data services in support of the security organizations. The candidate will play a key role in delivering firm's data strategy within the security organization. We look first and foremost for technologists who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices and can thrive in a highly regulated environment. In this role you'll be responsible for the design and development of data platforms supporting the firm's security initiatives. These platforms will enhance the firm's security posture by tracking and triaging vulnerabilities and misconfigurations from detection to remediation.
Responsibilities:
• Combine your design and development expertise to deliver world-class and low-friction security services.
• Produce extensible and maintainable code, primarily in Python and Golang.
• Design and develop APIs and data pipelines supporting the continuous evidencing of cloud control efficacy.
• Architect and build highly available cloud native services
• Data model complex business use cases and workflows
• Work on a DevOps team, where you will be responsible for both the development and operations of mission critical security services
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's in computer science, Computer engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of Backend Software Development experience in any backend programming language such as Python, Golang, C++ or Java.
• 2+ years in a tech lead of people management capacity
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple engineering teams
Desired Skills:
• Experience designing and building cloud-native production systems
• Experience designing and building APIs and large-scale data pipelines
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Basic frontend or dashboard development
• Experience with infrastructure security or another security discipline.
• Experience writing infrastructure as code such as Terraform
• Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure or GCP) certification(s)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
