We're seeking someone to join our team as (Vice President), We are seeking a Java Software Engineering Manager to join IBD & GCM Technology, a part of the wider Institutional Securities Technology (IST) Division, that focuses on supporting the complex and evolving needs of two of the firm's most prestigious and market leading businesses, Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets.

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST's 'clients' include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.

Advisory & Sales Distribution

Advisory is responsible for end-to-end process life cycle support for Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets and Research with a focus on efficiency, scale, and time to market. Sales Distribution develops technology for the firm's IED and FID Sales and Distribution business units, creating application synergies across the businesses various platforms

What you'll do in the role:

Lead the architectural design and modernization of defined components within our ecosystem.
Collaborate with product owners, in the business, to design and build solutions for IBD and GCM.
Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
Act as a hands-on engineer, personally tackling the most challenging problems.
Provide technical mentorship and leadership to a squad of developers

What you'll bring to the role:

The candidate must possess a strong technology background with advanced knowledge of Java and Java based technology stack.
• At least 8 years of hand-on Java EE and core Java experience with strong leadership qualities.
• Experience with web service development, REST and Services Oriented Architecture.
• Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Design patterns, Architecture and Application Integration.
• Working knowledge of Databases including Design, SQL proficiency.
• Strong experience with frameworks used for development and automated testing like SpringBoot, Junit, BDD etc.
• Experience with Unix/Linux.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple groups, both internal and external to the firm, including offshore development and QA teams, internal infrastructure groups, vendors, and support teams.
• Strong development skills with ability to understand technical design and translate the same into workable solution.
• Familiarity with working in a large team.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and work on the same to meet business requirements.
• A background that includes strong problem solving such as system integration, infrastructure debugging, or system administration.

Good to have skills:
• Web UI JS Framework - AngularJS
• NoSQL - MongoDB
• Experience with data management through vendor feeds.
