The person will be responsible for designing, developing, , and building new and manage the internally developed applications in the analytics and data technology department. As part of our IT team, person will work closely with developers to ensure system consistency and collaborate with business, technology teams and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. WM ( Wealth Management)Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.Middle Office PlatformsMiddle office is a core foundation for ETRADE. It provides the platform with key capabilities to support customer digital journey from opening an account, funding the account, trade and order management, portfolio/balances and risk management on all digital channels. It also provides the capabilities for ETRADE B2B stock plan business to manage participants lifecycle.Technical

What you'll do in the role:• At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role with Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
• Responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of multiple applications and/or platforms
• Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and vision for software development projects.
• Define technical architecture and roadmap for large-scale, mission-critical systems.
• Manage a team of software engineers, providing technical direction and assign tasks in accordance with business priorities.
• Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and best practices across the team.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert in specific technology domains or platforms.
• Continuously assess and improve team performance and efficiency.
• Estimation & end to end execution of required changes, coordination with stakeholders, as required.What you'll bring to the role:• At least 10+ years of hands-on application development utilizing JAVA (Spring Boot) and other open-source technologies.
• Experience in developing and consuming web services using standard Java based frameworks/toolkits (REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML)
• Experience in the development of service-oriented architecture application, good understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns and Git version control.
• Hands on knowledge of working on Multithreaded application.
• Solid understanding of DB concepts and working with relational databases (DB2 preferred)
• Experience in Apache Kafka, Apache Camel and other programming languages like python and Perl
• Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments.
• Proficient in DevOps tooling and practices
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading development teams.
• A very strong communicator with the ability to interface directly with clients, vendors, and analysts to ensure technical requirements and delivery align with expectations.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions.
