IWM Risk Analyst

International Wealth Management (IWM) manages the non-resident client (NRC) business which includes all Wealth Management accounts that are owned or controlled by non -U.S. based individuals and entities on the U.S platform. IWM focuses on growing the NRC ultra-high net worth and high net worth, multi-family office, family office, and middle market institutional businesses.

IWM's Business Risk and Control Analyst will be responsible for activities and initiatives regarding the governance, regulatory compliance, and enhancements to IWM's overall risk control suite.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • The creation of materials used in presentations to IWM and Firm Senior Management.
  • The development and execution of project plans for required control enhancements, jurisdictional remediation activities, and the completion Action Plans

Governance
The IWM Business Risk and Control Analyst will assist in the coordination and management of the following:
  • IWM's Risk Control Self-Assessments
  • IWM non-Compliance Report
  • IWM Intermediaries Management
  • IWM Policies and Procedures
  • IWM's Risk Acceptance
  • IWM Legal/Risk/Compliance coordination

Regulatory
The IWM Business Risk and Control Analyst will assist in the coordination and management of the following inquiries and exams:
  • Internal Audit
  • Compliance Exams
  • Regulatory Inquires and Exam
  • IWM Control Testing

Project Management
The IWM Business Risk and Control Analyst will be responsible for the development and implementation of project plans regarding the following activities:
  • Business Remediations
  • Action Plan Management
  • Control Suite Enhancements
  • Develop IT requirements & perform UAT testing and sign-off

Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 2-4 years of industry experience, preferably in Wealth Management or Private Banking
  • Series 7 preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word skills
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills - ability to work with various professionals and levels of management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Project management experience a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $57,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
