ISG Financial Resources & Strategy (FRS) is a division within the Institutional Securities Group (ISG) that executes centralized liability management for the Firm, in partnership with Corporate Treasury. FRS is responsible for the Firm's securities financing transactions (including repo and securities lending), strategy and optimization of clearing requirements and relationships, collateral optimization, and financial resource utilization and management across ISG.
Description of FRS Financing and Collateral Optimization Role
Financing and Collateral Optimization (FCO) is a dedicated business area within FRS responsible executing secured financing transactions to fund the firm's securities-based businesses, overseeing Firm-wide collateral management, and optimization margin requirements on a global basis. Our New York office is looking for an VP to join the team, with responsibilities focused on Firm Funding.
The successful candidate will be based in New York and will be responsible for managing the Firm's secured financing transactions, hedging interest rate risk, overseeing internal funds transfer pricing, and broad-based projects for the FCO desk. They will partner with FRS globally, Sales and Trading, Operations, Technology, Legal and Finance ensuring the most optimal use of the firm's assets to raise durable secured financing and optimizer derivative margin requirement, while balancing financial resource constraints for ISG & the Firm.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
• Execution of Secured Financing trades in Repo, Securities Lending and TRS
• Manage market risk and liquidity risk limit frameworks for secured funding activity
• Develop analytics and presentations for secured funding activity
• Monitor the composition of the Firm's securities balance sheet to inform secured funding footprint
• Present balance and client trends in various daily and weekly meetings
• Understand and optimize financial resource consumption by secured financing activity, including coordinating with DSP, PB, and Rates to achieve ISG's financial resource targets
• Structure new secured financing opportunities by liaising with Legal & Documentation groups to negotiate MRA, MSLA, ISDA, etc
• Cross-divisional collaboration with members of Delta One Structured Products, Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Client Financing, Corporate Treasury, and trading desks across FID and IED
Skills Required:
• Excellent communication skills with strong inter-personal skills
• Strong interest in financial markets - particularly equity and fixed income financing markets (sec lending, repo, delta one) and short duration fixed income products (front end credit and rates)
• An understanding of key regulatory requirements and frameworks across the financing markets
• Competitive team player that measures success with results with strong interpersonal skills
• Confidence in telephone, written and face to face interactions and participation in industry events and conferences
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and work in dynamic environment
• Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skill. Strong presentation skills with ability to organize and deliver strategic initiatives
• Proficient in PPT, Excel, Bloomberg

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
