MSIM Fixed Income are seeking a Trader in London focusing on the high yield credit market. The ideal candidate should have experience in high yield corporate credit trading. Experience in investment grade convertible bond, and loan markets is a plus. The individual will be responsible for transacting in markets, managing sell side relationships, and generating trade ideas. The ideal candidate should have an interest in markets, strong communication skills and enjoy building a network of contacts. Strong technology skills, self-starter mentality, proven academic and career achievements and a commitment to a team based process are essential characteristics.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute voice and electronic trades providing best execution with a focus on Euro and Sterling high yield credit markets.
  • Represent MSIM interfacing with the leveraged finance community to generate market color and trade ideas.
  • Build relationships with sell-side participants to augment our profile with the dealer trading and syndicate desks, benefiting primary and secondary market activity
  • Be a value-added member of the high yield credit team to generate investment performance working closely as partner with portfolio managers and analysts across regions, offices and asset classes
  • Pursue Market Structure development efforts that benefit our trading implementation
  • Enhance and work within the confines of best execution policies
  • Work within investment process to drive relative value analysis across client portfolios
  • Willingness to backup other trading desks as needed
  • Be a partner with compliance, valuation and operations teams

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in credit trading
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, high ethical standards and strictly adhering to firm's policies
  • Ability to handle pressure and work at a high level and multi-task
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be a contributing member of the global investment team
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills and exhibit those skills within the team
  • Negotiation skills to achieve best interests of clients with broker/dealers
