Background on the Position
The position resides within Investment Management Finance (IM Finance) which is a department dedicated to providing support to Morgan Stanley's Investment Management segment (MSIM) a leading global asset manager across the public and private markets. Members of the IM Finance team can expect to be involved in accounting, finance, and process transformation.
Description of the Role
The Investment Management Accounting Services team (IMAS) is part of the Finance Division and supports the Investment Management (IM) business.
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in streamlining operational processes, delivering management reporting and metrics while strengthening internal controls are across multiple locations within our team.
The individual in this role will work closely and partner with various groups across the organization including Finance, Operations, Technology and Business Unit teams while fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
- Lead audit processes, coordinating with external auditors and various internal stakeholders.
- Prepare managerial reporting packages that provide insights into financial performance and operational metrics.
- Partner with various groups in driving strategic and tactical projects forward to improve internal controls, reduce process redundancies while ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
- Create and support more robust and streamlined audit activity and testing frameworks, supporting both Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and System and Organizational Controls (SOC).
- Identify and disseminate best practices for both shared and standalone activities across the IMAS, broader Revenue Operations and IM Finance teams.
- Function as an intermediary and build effective relationships among Finance, Business Unit, Operations, Information Technology (IT) and other stakeholders as a change agent for the IMAS team.
- Identify and codify key processes and procedures and facilitate quality control reviews as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master's degree or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in finance, with strong focus on operational processes, audit, and reporting.
- Ability to coordinate and manage projects that span various locations and teams while communicating effectively with senior management team members across the firm.
- Exhibit superior analytical and technical skills (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
- Prioritize conflicting demands and maintain excellent communication regarding deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Project strong presence and communication (verbal and written).
- Digital tooling (Alteryx, UiPath and/or Tableau) experience a plus.
- Bonaire Revport application experience a plus.

Salary range for the position: [$105,000-170,000] Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
