Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC seeks an International Country Market Specialist in Pasadena, CA

Prospect and develop new high net-worth client relationships with focused prospecting on households with no less than $5mm in investable assets. Maintain and manage the accounts and transactions of those high net-worth investors and jointly develop suitable financial strategies. Conduct sophisticated economic and financial market analyses regarding countries other than the United States and the global markets. Analyze economic trends and activities both globally and in local country markets, and advise the effects on the investors' portfolios. Recommend changes to the investors' holdings after evaluating the economic, financial, and market factors and the potential impact on the investors' portfolios. Interpret market data against complex factors including trends of emerging markets, currency exchange control issues, inflationary environments, and local country economic variables.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,008 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field of study and one (1) year of experience in the position offered or one (1) year as a Client Service Associate, or a closely related occupation. Requires one (1) year of experience with: Prospecting domestic and international high net-worth client relationships with at least $5mm in investable assets; Developing financial strategies depending on client specific goals and needs, including factoring in estate planning needs; Generating portfolio reports depending on client needs and reviewing with clients; Analyzing and evaluating global financial market trends with an emphasis on Asia and US; Aladdin Portfolio Risk Platform to run risk reports, shock analysis, and scenario analysis; Asia and US market regulations, analyzing impact of regulations on specific industries, sectors, and market performance; Portfolio construction and management; Investment product due diligence and comparison analysis; Financial statement analysis; Analyzing geopolitical events and potential impact on investments; Trading of equity and fixed income securities, including non-US market securities; Bloomberg terminal for financial data analysis; Thomson ONE; and Microsoft Excel.
