The Institutional Platform Strategy drives strategic initiatives aimed at scaling our institutional wealth management businesses; including Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO), Graystone Consulting, Corporate Retirement, Institutional RIA, and the MS Family Office. The team is responsible for creating scalable solutions across all elements of the client and advisor experience - Pipeline and Prospect Management, Client Onboarding, Portfolio Setup and Management, Performance Reporting and Analytics, Money Movement, 401K Plan Management, and Institutional Billing / Financials.

The candidate will lead high-priority initiatives across Institutional Consulting Solutions (ICS) with a focus on building and scaling a premier shared service model for our institutional client segment. The candidate will be responsible for leading the effort to identify and refine business opportunities/risk/requirements, assess and reengineer platforms, and execute strategic solutions by leveraging the Firm's agile framework. The position will have a unique opportunity to engage with stakeholders and leadership across multiple lines of business (including Wealth Management, OCIO, MS Family Office, Global Investment Office, and Technology) to enhance our business offering and operating model.

We are seeking a candidate with strategic mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, with proven experience in strategy/product management and a solid understanding of the wealth management business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of large-scale and complex work-streams, including; conceptualizing project scope, timelines, and dependencies; tracking and reporting of key milestones; and engaging/influencing project stakeholders
  • Own and enhance workflows and solutions (e.g., Salesforce or other CRM tools) around client onboarding, servicing, risk management and portfolio implementation
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, conceptualize, and define requirements which will automate business processes that support institutional clients utilizing tools including integrating generative AI capabilities
  • Support all aspects of the product life-cycle including requirement gathering, execution/agile leadership, user acceptance testing, and ongoing subject matter expertise
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management to allow for informed strategic decision-making
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to define complex business problems and develop both tactical and strategic solutions
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to identify Firm services and solutions that support ICS' and clients' needs
  • Drive adoption of new functions and applications for ICS and other cross-functional teams through communication, training, and feedback sessions
  • Plan and facilitate the rollout of Institutional Platforms' product suite

Qualifications:

  • 2-5+ years of experience in financial services, wealth management, product management and/or business strategy/management related fields
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to define complex business problems, synthesize data, and provide and execute on tactical and strategic solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both business and technical contexts
  • Be solutions- and detail-oriented and quickly turnaround high-quality work without sacrificing speed or accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and under strict and changing deadlines with demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and work ethic
  • A track record of success and a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and discretion
  • Familiarity with wealth management platforms and vehicles, including managed account platforms, mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, and alternative investments
  • Experience with agile framework/JIRA preferred, but not required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

Expected base pay rate for the role will be between $85,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short- and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefit programs.
