The Human Resources Division within Morgan Stanley is looking for an Executive Director to join the HR Business Partner team that supports the Legal & Compliance Division (LCD). This role is a unique opportunity to become part of a team of Human Resource professionals, focused on partnering with our clients on a wide range of strategic priorities. As the primary HR Business Partner for LCD's Non-Financial Risk (NFR) team, this role will be responsible for delivering on key people priorities, including organizational design, succession planning, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, talent management, high complexity Employee Relations matters as well as driving annual processes including year-end compensation, promotions, and performance management.

In this role, the individual will have a high level of client interaction, must be able to operate effectively across the full range of HR disciplines and be able to work with Divisional Management and Senior HR colleagues globally. This role offers the right candidate an excellent opportunity to support a complex business with responsibilities over a range of interesting and challenging initiatives.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with a broad and geographically diverse client group.
• Provide HR leadership and guidance to senior leadership, managers and employees in areas such as performance management, workforce strategy, coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
• Oversee and manage key year-end processes, including compensation, promotion and performance management.
• Collaborate with key business leaders to develop innovative ideas to enhance culture, diversity, and inclusion.
• Provide oversight and direction in the handling of complex employee relations matters.
• Within the context of business priorities, work proactively with senior leadership to identify and develop top talent and successors to critical roles; partner with Talent Management team to create development plans for high potential employees.
• Leverage key people metrics to identify themes and develop areas of focus within respective client coverage area.
• Ability to effectively partner with and provide global oversight to key partners within both the regional HR teams as well as the HR product teams (i.e Talent, D&I, Recruitment, etc)
What you'll bring to the role:
• Bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of Human Resources Business Partner experience
• Strong client and commercial focus with outstanding judgment, analytical skills, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively demonstrate both strategic thought leadership and tactical execution.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a broad and diverse set of partners.
• Ability to handle fast-paced, demanding clients while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and factors that play a key role in comp decision-making processes
• Excellent quantitative/analytical skills
• Experience with MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Workday is a plus.
• Self-starter with commitment to excellence and strong project management skills; precise attention to detail
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
