About Global Financial Crimes:
As part of Morgan Stanley's ongoing commitment to prevent and detect financial crimes - including money laundering, terrorist financing, economic sanctions, and bribery/corruption - the Firm has adopted a comprehensive, risk-based program to ensure compliance with counter- terrorism and AML laws, rules, regulations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the GFC Testing team members, business unit and applicable GFC teams to plan and execute testing on financial crime-related processes performed by groups outside of GFC, as well as at third-party vendors. The candidate will also independently be able to manage tasks and time/schedules, require little to no supervision and lead and/or assist with the development, implementation and execution of risk-based compliance testing to review and assess the design adequacy and operational effectiveness of the Firm's financial crimes procedures, processes and controls.
Your Key Responsibilities:
As an experienced Testing Vice President in GFC, you will:
- Fully understand, conceptualize and interpret the governing policies, procedures and processes and be able to convey these to stakeholders and other colleagues.
- Independently define test scope and design specific testing steps for each applicable test in the annual plan.
- Manage the execution of tests and produce quality products, including final reports, that would require little to no feedback.
- Effectively communicate test results, present identified issues to the business, operations and GFC management, and work with the business and other stakeholders to develop corrective action plans to remediate findings
- Proactively track status of corrective action plans and conduct issue and action plan validation
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation of work products, as required by applicable policies and procedures
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with other professionals in the organization, including GFC advisory teams, other Compliance Monitoring and Testing Groups and Internal Audit
- Remain current on industry rules, regulations and best practices to help ensure that the testing program meets regulatory standards
What We're Looking for in You:
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in a financial institution, consulting firm or equivalent, demonstrating experience in financial crimes, audit, assurance or compliance testing.
- Have a degree from an accredited university degree or equivalent and demonstrate strong academic credentials
- Previous demonstrable experience of managing and developing junior staff
- Knowledge of what constitutes an effective Compliance Framework and best practice
- Understanding of financial crimes requirements, program and framework
- Advanced understanding of the audit and testing processes and approaches
- Should be familiar with the risk and control framework at a financial institutions or equivalent
- Should exhibit comfort working with technology and the ability to learn and display proficiency on technical systems and programs.
- Proficient with MS Office and other function applicable programs
- Self-starter and disciplined individual that is able to be a key team and independent contributor and has developed investigative skills: inquiry and analysis, interviewing, testing and organization
- Effective written communication skills: able to describe complex issues accurately and succinctly
- Strong attention to detail, which would require little to no feedback from management or independent reviewers
- Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information
- Ability to work effectively on multiple tests with different individuals at the same time and be able to properly communicate with them
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with the skills to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to execute tasks within tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues of all levels of seniority across regions and business units; able to question and challenge established processes
- Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent certification/license - or certification within first 15 months of employment

Salary range for the position: $105,000 - $170,000 Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
