Regulatory Reporting Overview
The Regulatory Reporting team at Morgan Stanley Fund Services provides our hedge fund clients reporting solutions to navigate complex domestic and international regulatory filings. The group is responsible for regulatory and transparency reporting products such as Form PF, Annex IV (AIFMD), OPERA (Open Protocol Enabling Risk Aggregation), CPO-PQR, and 13F for submissions to various regulatory bodies including the SEC, FCA, ESMA and CFTC.
The Regulatory Reporting team seeks an analyst/associate with a keen interest in finance and markets to join our team. The candidate will primarily be responsible for review of regulatory filings. Aspects of reporting include, client portfolio exposures and liquidity, counterparty exposures and collateral, trade volume, risk exposures, investor classifications and liquidity. The role also offers the opportunity to engage with various groups within the department and Firm.
Key Responsibilities
-Act as a primary point of contact for hedge fund CFOs/COOs/Controllers across regulatory reporting offerings
-Utilize ISDA and Prime Brokerage Reports to produce counterparty exposure
-Analyze and review portfolio exposures across industries, geography, and asset classes
-Review Portfolio VaR (Value at Risk) and Stress Tests across market factors
-Build and establish relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure integrity of reporting data
-Review and analyze new regulatory reporting developments and scope out requirements
-Contribute to projects and automation initiatives by streamlining internal workflows
Skills / Requirements
The candidate should possess:
-Basic understanding of common financial instruments (e.g., equity swaps, futures, options, bonds, and foreign currency forwards)
-Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
-Collaborative, quick learner, adaptable, problem solver, possess a strong work ethic, and ability to multi-task
-A keen interest in finance and markets
-Intermediate Excel skills required
-Knowledge of VBA and Bloomberg desired but not required
-Compliance or Regulatory experience in financial markets is desired but not required
Qualifications
Bachelors in Accounting/Finance/Economics or any related field
0-7+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to work in MSFS' midtown NY office is possible, although 1-2 working days/week must be in Purchase, NY
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $120,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
