Responsibilities:
- Support the risk oversight process via reports and data analysis using internal databases and third party tools. Communicate findings and insights to risk and investment teams.
- Parse and interpret data to build reports, relational databases, programmatic processes, or dashboards that effectively present insights.
- Monitor and ensure daily automated risk and performance reporting processes are completed. Research and resolve data issues, make, and implement recommendations based on analysis.
- Identify opportunities to enhance department services and optimize internal processes. Improve data quality and reporting accuracy through detailed reviews of fund data using internal systems.
- Lead and support departmental projects, ensuring issues are flagged and resolved, progress is tracked, and expectations are met.
- Perform additional ad hoc risk oversight, performance, or analytical tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
- No prior work experience required. Relevant internship and co-op experience preferred.
- A quantitative degree such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance required, an Advanced degree preferred. Progress towards CFA preferred.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret large datasets with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with python or another object orientated language.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases. Proficiency with Excel.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
