Global Equity Solutions:

Global Equity Solutions is responsible for the engagement, onboarding and day-to-day service management of corporate clients and their equity administration plan terms and associated service offerings for both public and private markets.

Financial Reporting Onboarding Manager:

The FR Onboarding Manager will be part of the Global Equity Solutions business within the Morgan Stanley at Work organization. U.S Public Equity Solutions is responsible for the engagement, onboarding, and day to day service management of corporate clients and their equity administration plan terms and associated service offerings. The candidate will work cross-functionally towards a goal of successful end-to-end delivery of onboarding projects with a focus on financial reporting capabilities, bringing a willingness to do what it takes to get onboarding projects done in a timely and accurate manner. The candidate will build exceptional relationships with both immediate and cross-functional teams. They will thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment focusing on all aspects of client readiness and support for clients as they move through the full lifecycle of Onboarding activities onto the Morgan Stanley at Work equity administration platforms.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Onboarding Senior Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate financial reporting project Onboarding while providing hands-on expense reporting support and expertise to both internal and external stakeholders. General responsibilities of the role are focused on the financial reporting aspect of onboarding but also include helping to develop and document expense reporting best practices to share this knowledge with colleagues and clients with regards to equity administration systems. This role does not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice as part of consulting services.

Financial Reporting Onboarding Manager Responsibilities:
  • Leveraging existing knowledge of financial reporting to educate and support clients through the Onboarding process
  • Interpreting client's reporting and data requirements to determine how to best meet needs during onboarding and Onboarding
  • Analyzing / troubleshooting to determine the root cause of a client's equity expensing and reporting issue(s) during Onboarding
  • Providing hands-on support for clients with regards to financial reporting in equity administration systems, including but not limited to:
    • Data uploads
    • Equity administration system financial reporting set-up as per IFRS & GAAP guidelines
    • Data analysis
    • Expense reconciliation
    • Report generation
  • Carrying a level of project capacity within a general onboarding queue, ensuring projects are completed in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Establishing and maintaining realistic and achievable project schedules, including helping to identify and overcome roadblocks as required
  • Developing and documenting appropriate processes in relation to financial reporting and where necessary within the role, while identifying opportunities for improvement and working to implement them
  • Working to understand and recognize financial reporting best practices and providing education to colleagues and clients
  • Attaining and maintaining a high level of knowledge of equity-based compensation plans and their Onboardings, with a focus on Financial Reporting, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholder
  • Participating as a subject matter expert at conferences and client meetings, delivering virtual presentations on equity compensation tools and services, as necessary
  • Training and transfer of software and equity knowledge to both clients and internal partners, assisting in the documentation of training materials as needed
  • Engaging with clients where necessary about the importance and impact of the financial reporting functionality, articulating a clear explanation of our financial reporting value proposition to prospective and / or existing clients

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics Commerce or similar is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services or the FinTech industry
  • Experience with Shareworks, Equity Edge Online, or equity compensation administration a definite asset
  • Completion of or enrollment in the CEP Program is an asset
  • Knowledge of the valuation of stock options and other award types is an asset
  • Strong technical understanding of equity compensation (ASC 718) accounting and reporting requirements is valued
  • Experience with complex share and expense reconciliations and analysis of differences is an asset
  • Proven success in communicating clearly with clients for the purposes of training and providing exceptional service
  • Effective team collaboration and the ability to partner with other functional teams
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong ability to plan and manage multiple projects in parallel
  • Intermediate understanding of finance and accounting concepts, specifically equity compensation, is highly preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for data manipulation purposes
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and technical concepts, including but not limited to the Microsoft office suite, including Intermediate level Excel
  • Strong analytical, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven success working in highly collaborative, team-centric environments is a must
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving environment which includes ongoing learning and training opportunities
