Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team. The Morgan Stanley Baltimore office is a critical component of the Firm`s Global footprint and has 1,400 employees that provide support and services to the Investment Banking, Securities, Investment Management and Wealth Management Businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly profit and loss reports.
- Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and financial forecasts.
- Conduct detailed analysis for budget forecasting, stress testing, and financial modeling.
- Support key business projects, regulatory reporting, and risk management initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to provide actional insights and ensure timely reporting
- Serve as a trusted advisor on financial processes, reporting accuracy, and process improvements.
Required Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and proactiveness.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to observe and enhance processes to drive team efficiency.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Interest in and familiarity with financial markets and products
- Previous experience in audit, accounting, controllership, or FP&A
- Experience with digital tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx
- Familiarity with key financial functions, including:
- Product Control, FP&A, Management Reporting
- Balance Sheet and Revenue Analysis
- Profit and Loss Calculations
- Regulatory Reporting & Reconciliation
- Financial Products such as stocks, bonds, FX, equities, credit, commodities, IPOs, and global capital markets
Education Requirements: High School Diploma
Salary range for the position: [$58,000-85,000] Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
