Position Overview

The Vice President of Event Management and Operations strategizes and executes mid and large-scale events for Morgan Stanley at Work. Reporting to the Head of Global Event Management and Operations, this role is responsible for the end-to-end implementation of key initiatives required to plan and execute events in coordination with key stakeholders on content strategy, production timelines, deliverables, and goals.

The candidate must possess superior communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven role. The ideal candidate excels in a team environment, builds relationships, is culturally astute and a resilient, resourceful problem-solver.

Job Description/Position Responsibilities

The Vice President of Event Management and Operations will be responsible for Content and Speaker management for our annual Thrive conference, Thrive Regional Forums, and various Morgan Stanley at Work meetings.
  • Run, manage, and deliver all size client events in coordination with Event Management team.
  • Create communication strategies for senior executive speakers including - messages, scripts and talking points.
  • Guide internal and external speaker resources through content development and preparation process.
  • Manage approval process for all speaker materials: presentations, handouts, flyers, and scripts.
  • Manage breakouts, including Learning Labs, Education Sessions - from planning to execution for hundreds of corporate clients.
  • Create and maintain a deliverables timeline to ensure content is on schedule for the conference.
  • Responsible to confirm content aligns with the conference goals, brand messaging and target audience.
  • Curate session topics, identify potential speakers, and manage speaker communications and content submissions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional content, including digital materials, social media posts and email campaigns.
  • Continually review event management models to ensure execution is consistent with goals of Morgan Stanley at Work Businesses.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to deliver programs that contribute to the health of Morgan Stanley at Work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, minimum of 5-10 years' experience in an events role within a large organization preferred.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and a commitment to company values and HR principles with demonstrated experience interacting with senior management.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Flexibility to adapt procedures, and processes to ensure completion of projects.
  • Excellent professional etiquette maintain composure and remain positive under pressure.
  • Critical and Creative thinking are critical, along with an exceptional attention to detail, strong follow-up skills.

Salary range for the position: [$110,000 - $130,000/] Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
