Equity Research Associate, Materials
Description
Partner with the research teams to understand investment debates and translate into market research objectives
Apply research and data analysis techniques to develop hypotheses, analyze study results and uncover findings
Build/maintain/update financial models and complete the company valuation.
Present findings in a clear and concise way and collaborate with team members to weave insights and implications into analyst publications
Mine other primary and secondary market research data and collaborate with counterparts to enhance studies and publications
Stay current with industry and macroeconomic trends impacting markets under coverage

1 - 3 years relevant work experience
Strong academic background with Bachelor's degree; Advanced graduate degree (e.g., MBA, etc.) is a plus
Strong analytical background. Previous experience in equity research, investment analysis is a plus
Industry experience in Metals & Mining is a plus, as well as Research/auditing/banking/credit analysis related experience
Good understanding of accounting/finance as well as financial modeling
Experience utilizing Excel to build/maintain financial models, an advanced level of excel proficiency is expected and required
Ability to integrate and synthesize research information from multiple sources, delivering value-added insights and recommendations
Critical thinker with high level of intellectual curiosity
High level of initiative and detail driven
Strong problem solving skills in unstructured and stressful situations
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and Chinese (Mandarin)
Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadline, positive thinking, self-driven.
