We're seeking someone to join our team as a Director in Institutional Securities Group Equity Operations that will have full functional responsibility for large operations teams either in a core location, or spread across multiple locations

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Specialist position at Director level within Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you'll do in the role:
• Serve as a subject matter expert within functional area, working with Team Manager to manage processes, risks and/or projects, proposing and implementing improvements/changes
• Act as key problem solver for area or expertise, applying detailed knowledge to address unique or novel situations, recognize risks and draw out key issues
• Coordinate work, train and develop other team members where required, including task allocation, and project contribution
• They will also have senior accountability for the budget performance, operational excellence and people development agenda of their teams, plus for the delivery of a first rate client service experience by those teams
• Has broad knowledge across multiple products, markets and services. Understands market drivers and can engage with senior stakeholders and business unit leads on business strategy
• Is the Morgan Stanley representative in senior external market forums and with regulators for their area of responsibility
• Engages in these forums to drive industry and market change. Establishes, facilitates and communicates the Morgan Stanley stance and direction on key external issues

What you'll bring to the role:
• Ability to lead by example, work with drive and determination, and put forward challenging views to senior levels
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their team
• Ability to operate independently across the majority of day-to-day responsibilities
• Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values and acting as a role model
• Is able to manage multiple work streams and prioritize effectively
• Actively looks for new opportunities for self-development and career progression; ensures core skill set is best utilized by the Firm
• Can identify the right levels of control and measures required, creating a strong yet flexible workflow
• Shows commitment to learn from experience and mistakes; actively seeks out feedback and adjusts behavior accordingly
• At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
• Bachelor's degree required

Role is hybrid and will require 3 days in office attendance.

Salary range for the position: $80,000 - $104,000 Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
