Equity Market Risk Team Lead

The role will reside within FRM's Market Risk Department. The Market Risk Management Division ("MRD") is responsible for the independent identification, analysis, reporting and escalation of all market risk exposures arising from business activities, acting independently of business management and providing an effective challenge process.

You will:
-Lead the Equity Market Risk Team in Budapest with three direct reports. Manage and ensure high quality deliverables as well as provide career development opportunities and actionable feedback to team members. Engage with functional management in other locations to maintain high quality contribution to the Global team.
-Assess market risks, concentrations, and top risks on assigned desk of coverage by independently challenging traders and trading management.
-Develop risk monitoring tools and get involved in system improvement working closely with business, IT and other groups within the Firm.
-Continuously review limit and reporting framework to ensure appropriateness in light of new trades, business strategy, new product risk factors and market conditions.
-Develop strong expertise in Stress Testing framework, processes, and economic drivers. Play an important role in enhancing the Stress Testing infrastructure and practices.
-Analyse weekly stress testing results and contribute to the implementation of new stress scenarios.
-Coordinate non-BAU stress testing exercises (such as regulatory submissions to FED, ECB, PRA) by actively managing all relevant processes for Equity, engaging with relevant teams, and flagging potential issues to stress testing and risk management seniors.
You have:
-Bachelor's or higher degree in fields such as finance, economics, or similar
-Knowledge of financial products and equity derivatives pricing (futures, options)
-Basic coding skills (Python, SQL, VBA) aimed at creating automated tools to check relevant risks and market moves
-Genuine interest in financial markets, with proactive and independent mindset in analysing and escalating relevant events
-Experience in risk management and / or quantitative field in a sell-side institution preferred
-Excellent communication skills for written, graphical and verbal presentation
-Attention to detail and prioritization skills will also be key in balancing daily deadlines with timely implementation of strategic projects
