We're seeking someone to join our team as EMEA Head of Health & Safety to be responsible for developing and implementing the Firm's Strategy, Policy, direction, and systems to mitigate and control work related risks and to provide a safe and healthy place to work across the entire EMEA Region. This role reports into the Regional Head of Property Management.

In the Corporate Services division, we empower our businesses by creating collaborative workplace solutions and commercial services that enhance the employee and client experience, while optimizing the value of our sourcing and third-party lifecycle to enable the Firm to do-and-win business. This is a Director level position within Property Services, which manages the daily operations of our facilities. Handle all engineering and maintenance services.

What you'll do in the role:
• Accountable for strategic leadership of the H&S function and service delivery in the EMEA Region. Lead the Group's approach to all occupational and property H&S systems that impact our employees and others across the region and setting effective strategy and objectives to deliver risk mitigation.
• Foster a team environment and assure the development, alignment and implementation of H&S policies, procedures and best practices regionally and globally.
• Manage and lead a team of external H&S Advisors, responsible for the implementation and monitoring of H&S risks that are aligned with local regulatory requirements and the goals and objectives of the Firm.
• To provide practical, proportionate and effective solutions to H&S risks across the region and where necessary research and interpret a range of complex H&S legislation.
• Provide effective leadership, management and direction to drive Operational and Property H&S performance across the region.
• Provide competent advice and guidance to H&S senior management committees, forums and teams and develop strategic long-term H&S management plans for mitigating H&S risk within their areas of responsibility.
• Build and maintain relationships throughout all levels within Business Units. Advise, support and assist Business Unit H&S Representatives and Senior Management in the implementation of Firm H&S policies and procedures relating to the provision and maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace and work practices.
• Lead the mandatory Display Screen Equipment (DSE) policy across the region. Work with key H&S stakeholders and Business Unit management to ensure DSE Policy, strategy and systems are effectively implemented and meet local requirements. Monitor its effectiveness in mitigating DSE related risks.
• To manage the planning, development, and delivery of a H&S training programme for the region to ensure that all staff have the necessary skills, knowledge and competence to fulfil their job- specific H&S roles and responsibilities and that training provided meets local legislative requirements.
• Ensure that the Firm's UK and EMEA operational H&S policies, safety management systems and associated governance models are kept up-to-date and any revisions brought to the H&S Director and the H&S Management Committee (HSMC) for authorisation when legislation or other events make it necessary.
• Attendance at the Firm's London Employee Representative Committee (LRC) to fulfil the legal requirement to consult with employees in regards to changes H&S policy, procedures and mitigation measures.
• Ensure that risk-based H&S monitoring and inspection programmes are carried out as well as managing audits of higher risk topics such as managed vendor services, fire safety, construction safety etc.
• Ensure that adequate systems are in place for reporting accidents and incidents across the EMEA region, ensuring that competent accident investigations are conducted and where necessary reporting incidents to the relevant Enforcing Authority. Lead on the submission of regional accident rates and qualitative statements for annual CSRD/ESG Reporting.
• Oversee H&S management reporting for the Firm providing performance data and statistics on operational safety and health matters and present to the HSMC, LRC, Business Unit senior management forums etc.
• Lead on the development, production, monitoring and review of new and existing H&S policies, procedures and guidance, liaising, influencing, negotiating and consulting with Business Unit senior management and other key internal H&S stakeholders where appropriate.

Cross-Functional Roles & Responsibilities:
• Develop relationships across Morgan Stanley to become a trusted advisor to colleagues, internal clients', and Business Units.
• To act as the senior H&S competent advisor with other infrastructure support functions in Corporate Services, HR, Operational Risk, Legal and Compliance etc. to ensure effective operation

What you'll bring to the role:
• Ability to interpret legislation and guidance for implementation in the workplace, with experience supporting EMEA H&S implementation.
• Ability to liaise with statutory enforcers (H&S Executive, Fire Safety Officer, Environmental Agency, Local Authority Environmental Health Officer etc.).
• Ability to interface across all levels of our customer's organization, including senior management and stakeholders.
• Computer and IT literate - specific focus on all Microsoft Office systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to react quickly and decisively when faced with a problem or issue.
• Commercial and financial awareness in a corporate environment.
• Understand Firm values and align own etiquette.
• 10+ years of experience of Health &Safety in Corporate or Facilities Management Environment.
• Minimum Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) standing of Certified and is working/willing to work towards Chartered Membership.
• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational H&S or equivalent e.g. OHS degree or NVQ level 5 / 6.
• Evidence of relevant H&S IPD being maintained.
• Previous experience in investment banking/financial services or critical system environments would be advantageous.
