Morgan Stanley Investment Research is uniquely committed to being an essential part of our clients' investment process. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Research Creative Suite is a global team responsible for creating dynamic audio, video and editorial marketing assets to amplify some of the 70,000 research reports annually in equities, fixed income, cross asset strategy and economics.

The Creative Suite creates long- and short-form editorial content, podcasts, short-form audio, episodic video series, mini-series, and webcasts for both institutional and retail clients. Members of the team engage daily with various stakeholders within Research including: Editorial, Research Analysts and Strategists and Economists. The team also engages with various divisions around the firm including Wealth Management, including E*TRADE, Institutional Securities and Firmwide Marketing and Corporate Communications.

We are seeking a Design/Production Assistant who will help facilitate the production of research related content. These include, online and printed research report layout and image selection, online Research portal management, Conference material production, printed brochures, and more.

Eligible candidates are organised, have a technical but creative flair, and a keen drive to learn.

The role will require direct client communication, working independently and within a team, and being open to training on new software. Eligible candidates are entry-level designers who have knowledge of MS Office and the Adobe suite. Knowledge of the Stensul Marketing Platform is a plus.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and brings a sense of personal vision along with collaborative skills. The candidate should also be a passionate, big idea person who enjoys finding visually driven ways of explaining complex themes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will possess a positive attitude and team spirit for working alongside members of the Creative Suite.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Design
  • Email marketing asset design using in-house software.
  • Infographic visualisation and creation using financial data.
  • Podcast and video thumbnail design.
  • Conference onscreen and print material design.
  • Image selection and editing for Research products - online and print.
  • Collaborate with analysts and offshore teams on a variety of design projects.
  • Working within brand guidelines.
  • Assist team with adhoc projects i.e design promotional assets for departmental events and podcast recordings.

Production
  • Utilise in-house publication software to create and edit the layout of multi-page/multi-section documents using templates.
  • Manage and publish conference materials using PowerPoint, Excel and other in-house software.
  • Assist with team admin, including maintaining various shared logs, folders, managing projects through Asana and oversee the Production Microsoft Teams Channel.

QUALIFICATIONS | SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Solid design sense and awareness of current design trends
  • Capable of translating complex data in a visually compelling way
  • Expertise with brand standards and can work within well-established corporate guidelines
  • Ability to make independent decisions and use problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Financial industry experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Eidos Methode a plus
