About the Role
The Asia Pacific Derivatives product control team supports several of the Equity Derivative businesses including the Single Name, Exotics, Index, Emerging Markets, Convertible Bonds, as well as the Corporate Equity desk. The team acts as a guardian of the firm's books and records by ensuring the appropriate accounting classification, timing and accuracy of economic transactions and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, review and report financial information to the Business Unit (BU), Senior Finance Management, and other key stakeholders.
- Analyse PNL Attribution, provide commentary and relate it with the market news.
- Support the Business Unit on new business initiatives, collaborating with various stakeholders such as Legal Entity Controllers, IT, Operations, Client Services, Legal and Compliance, Credit, Market Risk, etc.

- Ensure all control processes are executed in a timely and effective manner and that these are continually reviewed for opportunities to enhance the control environment.
- Maintain oversight over the daily, weekly and monthly net revenue and balance sheet reporting processes owned by the team members based in Mumbai.
- Develop knowledge of technical accounting and disclosure processes.
- Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders including the Equity Derivative Traders, Operations and Other Finance groups (Valuation Controllers, Legal Entity Controllers, Treasury).
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in Accounting and Finance or related fields
- University graduated in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or relevant disciplines.
- Work collaboratively in a high-performing team to ensure the integrity of Morgan Stanley's books and records.
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure, and are a self-starter, willing to take ownership and accountability.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the mindset of continuous improvement, aiming for excellence.
- Strong attention to details, organized and effectively juggle among various priorities.
- Aptitude for working in a swiftly changing, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work with virtual teams across varying regions towards the achievement of common goals.
- Good teamwork, collaboration, and excellent communications skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and VBA skills with the ability to navigate and work on complex spreadsheets.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, including experience in managing senior stakeholders.
- Product knowledge / experience a plus
