What you'll do in the role:

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytics and Reporting Specialist with a strong background in data modelling, analytics, and visualization using Snowflake and Power BI. The ideal candidate should be proficient in designing and implementing enterprise-level reporting solutions, working with large datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture & Management:
• Design, develop, and optimize complex data models in Snowflake to support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and accuracy across the organization's Snowflake data warehouse.
• Work with DBAs, data engineers, and ETL developers to manage and enhance data pipelines.

Analytics & Reporting:
• Develop interactive and intuitive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI to support business objectives.
• Conduct advanced data analysis, including statistical modelling and predictive analytics, to uncover trends and insights.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

Collaboration & Consultation:
• Work closely with business stakeholders, understanding their reporting and analytics needs and ensuring those needs are met with custom solutions.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to integrate new data sources into Snowflake and develop data marts for analytics.
• Provide recommendations to improve processes, reporting frameworks, and dashboards based on best practices.

Performance Monitoring:
• Monitor the performance of Snowflake queries and Power BI dashboards, optimizing for efficiency and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data and reporting issues in a timely manner.

Documentation & Training:
• Maintain documentation for reporting processes, data sources, and dashboards.
• Provide training and support to junior analysts and business users on Power BI reporting tools and Snowflake data usage.

What you'll bring to the role:

Required Skills:

Data Warehousing:
• Expert knowledge of Snowflake data warehousing principles, architecture, and optimization.
• Experience with data modeling, normalization, and denormalization in large-scale environments.

Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Proficient in Power BI for building complex reports, data visualizations, and dashboards.
• Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query for data transformation in Power BI.
• Ability to perform complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

Programming & Scripting:
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Business Acumen: Ability to interpret business requirements into technical specifications and provide solutions.

Relevant Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in data analytics and reporting.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• 2+ years of experience in building reports and dashboards using Power BI.

Certifications (Preferred):
• Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core Certification) and Power BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are highly desirable.

Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing tasks and issues.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
