Client Onboarding and Regulatory Services (CORS) is a department that is responsible for adherence to client regulatory requirements during the life of the client's relationship with Morgan Stanley. This includes Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Client Reference Screening, Know Your Client (KYC), and market regulations such as MIFID II, SFTR, UMR, Dodd Frank, EMIR, etc.
CORS have a global footprint with offices in Hong Kong, Bangalore, Tokyo, London, Glasgow, Baltimore, and New York.
Our mission is to serve our clients by delivering effective and efficient regulatory services at a high level of quality and control, while striving for continuous innovative improvements that will reduce the Firm's total operating expenses.
The team is comprised of regulatory SMEs that provide support and regulatory control for global Business Units and a variety of stakeholders across the Firm, with the main focus on the EMEA regulations. The teams work on regulatory projects across asset classes, business units or product lines, jurisdictions, and functions in support of new or amended regulations, processes and controls that have an impact across the Firm. The team works with global stakeholders in Businesses, Legal, Compliance, Business Unit Risk Management, Change the Bank, Technology, and various Operations teams. The team is also responsible for reviewing, processing, maintaining regulatory data and documents, and ensuring regulatory reporting setups are in place.

Role Description:
> Support the activities of the team pertaining to European regulations such as SFTR, EMIR, MiFID II and UMR, by ensuring clients are onboarded with the necessary regulation information and documentation.
> Correctly scope in the client population that will need to adhere to respective regulations and ensure the correct requirements are being requested.
> Work with Legal, Compliance, BU, Operations and Technology to review upcoming regulations, create solutions, drive consensus, and oversee implementation in systems and processes.
> Review and strengthen regulatory controls, both tactical and strategic.
> Review and remediate clients on exceptions reports.
> Respond to queries on regulations and client reference data.
> Review live trades that are non-complaint to mandatory clearing (EMIR, DF, etc.), UMR documentation and venue execution (SEF/ MiFID II) mandates.
> Handle volume spikes and prioritise work including ad-hoc requests and projects to meet business demands in a timely manner.
> Develop SME knowledge on regulations covered by the team, and work to improve controls and quality in processes and systems.
> Track and manage interdependencies, critical path and risk status.
> Escalate issues in a timely manner to the regional manager.
> Provide regular status updates and metrics to managers.
> Deliver quality results in a timely manner and within required deadlines.
> Establish good working relationships with regional teams and internal stakeholders across various jurisdictions.
Skills and Experience Desired
> Strong subject knowledge (preferred) in at least one of the following: MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, UMR or other relevant global regulatory regimes.
> Good general product knowledge.
> Exceptional organisational skills.
> Attention to detail and research/ investigative skills.
> Sound risk and control mindset, excellent judgement, and ability to prioritise.
> Ability to self-drive projects and deliverables owned by other teams.
> Work independently and meet business deadlines with accuracy.
> Problem solving skills to mitigate risks associated with the business.
> Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to seamlessly interact with the Business units, Compliance, and other key stakeholders.
> Ability to multi-task to handle various business requests and prioritise time accordingly.
> Ability to quickly digest new information and learn new businesses and processes.
> Ability to effectively manage pressure and stressful business demands.
> 3-5 years (preferred) of relevant work experience in the financial industry specifically with a Market Regs / Onboarding.
