This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 2-3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.
About Team
The Radius Reporting team at Parametric:
• The primary focus is on developing a highly resilient and scalable solution to deliver reporting data throughout the firm on AWS cloud. The reporting engine will aggregate data across various data sources and teams and apply technical and business validation prior to delivering to downstream consumers.
• Utilizing data engineering techniques to aggregate data using AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS Athena and build several data ingestion pipelines into an internal data lake.
• Build Resilient and Scalable Microservices to build validation workflow services for incoming data and GraphQL APIs to serve the final report data.
About the role
The Software Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of the firm's Reporting Data Engine, known as Radius Reporting. This role requires a solid engineering foundation, a product development mindset, solution architect's mindset, and an approach to a highly available and event driven system. It also necessitates extensive interaction and communication, potentially across multiple development teams and will help centralize reporting data across the firm.
Primary Responsibilities
• Participate in Agile based product development.
• Provide flexible solutions to complex business problems using our technology best practices.
• Design and develop cloud native (AWS) micro-services with primary focus on correctness and performance.
• Build ETL pipelines to ingest data from various sources.
• General understanding of API gateways, security entitlements and event-based system desired
• Apply best in class engineering principles, optimized algorithms, and data structure techniques.
• Create unit/integration/functional tests.
• Follow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriate.
• Research new cloud apps/open-source technologies and incorporate in existing services / APIs.
Job Qualifications
Skill Set
Required Experience: 4+ years.
Skill set: Java / AWS S3/ AWS Athena/ AWS Glue / AWS Lambda/ General Cloud Development (AWS preferred) / Microservices Architecture/ GraphQL / React
Primary Skills
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/computer engineering required.
• 4+ years of hands-on full stack Java development experience, with React or any other JavaScript based frontend framework.
• Experience developing REST and/or GraphQL API horizontally scalable services.
• Proven experience with test driven development
• Familiarity with GIT version control system
• Working experience with agile development
• Familiarity with continuous integration and build tools like Maven or Gradle
• Hands-on experience with SQL Databases like PostgreSQL
• Effective communication skills with business users and other developers
Good to Have Skills
• Experience with AWS ETL tools like S3/Lambda/Glue/Athena
• Experience in general cloud native services development (AWS preferred)
• Experience in event-based architectures and messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Experience in Python
• Experience with terraform.
• Experience in Financial services Industry.
