What you'll do in the role:
Primary Responsibilities :
• Support/Collaborate within FRM and across Firm for the Prioritized Data Initiative (PDI exercise) performed at Firm level covering the Firmwide principles and practices to effectively manage data quality, to assess the impact of data quality challenges, and to prioritize the remediation of issues related to data quality at Morgan Stanley and its consolidated subsidiaries.
• Engage in the creation, aggregation, transformation, distribution, reporting, consumption, validation, and management of BCBS 239 related data used in BCBS in-scope critical reports as per the BCBS239 compliance evaluation through an evidence based FRM-wide assessment program.
• Support data integrity testing performed where in internal independent validation groups focusing on Data lineage/reporting logic testing to assess the appropriateness and accuracy of reporting logic.
• Support Transaction testing exercise for the data lineage covering sample data contributing to the selected data points to source documents requiring contributions from Business Units & System Owners to demonstrate accuracy and completeness of key data elements.
• Identify and work on areas for improvement in processes related to risk data management incl. identification of data issues.
• Senior management reporting and presentations
• Facilitate the automation of KPIs to senior management forums.
• Keeping updated on large data projects and progress upstream of Risk systems
What you'll bring to the role:
• 2-4 years of work experience in the financial services industry particularly in risk management, finance, operations, Audit or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Excellent academic background, preferably with a degree in business, finance,
Science, or a related discipline.
• Good understanding of risk management concepts and financial products, particularly with respect to commercial financial market data.
• Experience in Data Management and/or Data Governance.
• Strong organizational and/or project management skills.
• Strong collaboration, relationship building and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize projects, meet tight deadlines and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to details.
• Good working knowledge in Power Point and Excel.
• VBA, SQL querying.
