Morgan Stanley Investment Mgmt., Inc. seeks an Associate, Investment Management in New York, New York

Analyze new investment opportunities and manage existing portfolio companies. Conduct research on macro themes, investment ideas, and target assets. Build financial models for company projection, asset valuation, and transaction scenarios. Produce investment memoranda and support materials on investment opportunities. Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items. Track prospective deals. Monitor the performance of portfolio companies.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Investment Banking Analyst, Analyst, or a closely related occupation. Requires two (2) years of experience with: financial and valuation models in investment banking; producing cash flow models, valuation models, and liquidity analysis; investment banking deal mandates including, corporate sellside and buyside mandates, public company carve-outs, equity issuances, and debt issuances; working through a diligence process during a buyside or a sellside mandate; energy, transportation, digital, or utilities investment sector coverage; industry financial methods, tax credits, and ability to model out cashflows implement them; databases including Bloomberg, Enverus, and WoodMac; assessing investment highlights, key risks, mitigants, business models, and growth drivers for a company.
