Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an Associate, Data Risk Analytics in New York, NY
Assist the team with ensuring compliance of trading data with the firm's data quality standards and polices. Assist in the assessment of prioritization of various data initiatives. Review key front office trade booking and risk aggregation processes, and the associated data quality control framework. Develop SME knowledge around key data governance processes and data quality controls. Draft data definitions for prioritized data and conduct data lineage to identify data authorities for the key data elements. Conduct control coverage assessment, identify any control gaps, and work on defining remediation plans for these gaps. Catalogue prioritized data and associated meta data in Firm approved tool.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $143,300 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Master's degree in Management and Systems, Data Science, Risk Management, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Data Governance Analyst, Regulatory Client Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst, or a closely related occupation. Requires three (3) years of experience with: financial products, asset classes, and trade lifecycle; transactional data including trading and loan, and referential data including counterparty and financial instrument in financial institutions; writing data definitions, understanding data flows and lineage, and performing control analysis to ensure the value of key data elements are complete and accurate; understanding externally sourced data and defining and assessing the data quality controls on this data; obtaining data from various sources and analyze the data to serve different needs; achieving project milestones and deliverables on time by collaborating with stakeholders from cross-functional business units; ensuring the bank's data quality framework and requirements are compliant with the regulatory requirements and fit for purpose.
