Division Profile:

The Wealth Management Platforms organization manages digital platforms and experiences across the Advisor, Workplace and Direct channels, ensuring that our capabilities lead the industry and are delivered and integrated seamlessly.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst to join the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Platforms Strategy and Execution team. The Wealth Management Platforms Strategy and Execution team supports development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives across the Platforms organization. In the Business Analyst role, you will be responsible for managing large data sets to help the inform strategic decisions. This role will focus specifically on supporting Morgan Stanley's Field Feedback program, focused on Platforms in the Advisor, Workplace, and Direct channels. In this role you will have the opportunity to help inform trends, decision making, and assist in prioritization of Platform ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
  • Data cleaning and validation, inclusive of:
    • Organizing and sorting data before / after entry
    • Performing data quality checks
    • Generating reports based on entered / manipulated data
    • Updating existing data in databases
  • Analyzing feedback data to identify trends, strengths, areas for improvement, and key concerns across different teams in the Platforms organization
  • Preparing clear and concise reports summarizing feedback results and assist in creation of presentations of key findings to leadership and Platform owners
  • Creating weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to assist Platforms owners in managing and maintaining SLAs relative to Field feedback

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2 - 3 years of experience as a data analyst in financial services, wealth management, and/or business strategy/management related fields
  • Advanced Excel skills including data filtering, pivot tables, and formulas to manipulate and analyze data
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to meticulously review large datasets and identify discrepancies
  • Analytics skills; understand data patterns and identifying potential issues
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Tableau Reporting
  • Familiarity with data cleansing and validation software like spreadsheets and data management platforms
  • Ability to accurately input, export and manipulate data
  • Effectively communicating data validation findings to technical and non-technical audience
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and work ethic
