Department Profile:
The Mission of the Morgan Stanley US Banks Information Security Team is to provide strategy, oversight, and consultation regarding controls that support the US Banks within the Firm. The team partners with other risk teams and with technology within the Firm to ensure an information security risk profile that sufficiently achieves the security strategy goals aligned to the business.
Position Description:
The US Banks Information Security Team is looking for an Assistant Vice President who can help execute the Bank's Information Security program objectives. The candidate's work will be guided by area VPs and EDs. This is an opportunity to join a growing Bank Business Unit Information Security Officer team to help ensure the business adheres to Information Security Policies of the Banks and the Firm. The candidate will assist in the reduction of risk impacts to Bank business units by adopting security controls and provide sufficient oversight of those controls to senior management. The ideal candidate would also provide consultation on existing control implementations and define solutions which can fill gaps identified to further reduce risk based on their experience and in partnership with senior management.

The candidate must be familiar with information security best practices and should be able to convey moderately complex Information security risks to the business. An understanding of cybersecurity is beneficial.
Job Specific Responsibilities - Assist in the Following Activities:
- Evolving Policies and Procedures to maintain governance and oversight in a changing threat landscape.
- Ensuring Bank personnel are adhering to Information Security Controls as they evolve.
- Review and interpret assessments or incidents for Bank impact.
- Leverage prior experiences to provide guidance to reduce risk.
- Evolving current program metrics and reporting to align to information security threats.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Awareness of industry best-practices in Financial Services.
- Collaborative work ethic.
- Self-starter that is detail oriented with people and time-management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and work well in an environment with rapidly adjusting priorities.
Ideal candidate should have familiarity:
- Using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and/or SharePoint.
- Ability to develop and plan short and long-range goals.
Additional Experiences:
- 2 to 3 Years of Relevant Experience in Information Security, or Cybersecurity
- Bachelor's Degree
