Position Overview:
The Lending Advisor is responsible for evaluating, processing, and managing loan applications while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves assessing clients' financial situations, ensuring compliance with lending policies, and offering tailored solutions to meet customers' borrowing needs. Familiarity with financial derivatives and their application in risk management is a key aspect of this role.
This position may involve working in a fast-paced office environment or directly interacting with clients at various branches. Remote or hybrid options may be available depending on organizational policies.

- Provide clear explanations of lending terms, repayment structures, and loan options.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure a positive experience.
- Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to cross-sell banking products, including savings accounts, derivatives, and investment options.
- Collaborate with internal teams to grow the customer base and achieve lending targets.
- Loan Analysis & Underwriting:
- Assess applicants' creditworthiness by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and risk profiles.
- Recommend appropriate loan solutions based on client needs and financial capacity.
- Derivative Knowledge Application:
- Understand and evaluate the use of financial derivatives (e.g., interest rate swaps, equity options, fx derivatives) as part of lending strategies.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to structure loans that may incorporate derivatives to hedge financial risks.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all loan processes comply with applicable regulations, policies, and industry standards.
- Monitor loan portfolios to mitigate risks and address delinquency issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in lending, banking, or financial services preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment products, wealth management principles.
- Integrity, ethical conduct and adherence to credit analysis, lending procedures, financial derivatives, regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and loan management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in explaining complex financial concepts to clients.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of derivatives and their application in risk management.
- Customer-focused with a strong ability to understand and address client needs.
- Experience in serving high-net-worth individuals and understanding their unique wealth management needs.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail in assessing financial data.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local and international lending regulations (if applicable).
