Position Description
The Strategic Entitlements team within Institutional Securities Technology (IST) is looking for a strong Application Developer to drive the technical implementation of strategic initiatives in the entitlements space. In this role, not only you will design and develop applications, libraries, tools and components that will strengthen the control posture of our Division, but you will do so as part of a best-in-class, global team.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and maintain highly-available API's to support regulatory reporting. Support other technical teams in the integration with these API's, in addition to being responsible for testing the functionality and performance of these components, and planning and monitoring upgrade releases.
• Design, develop and maintain libraries and components that standardize the use of application entitlements and client data access across different systems. These can be written in Python, C# and/or C++. The candidate will analyze requirements received from the Risk team and assist in defining the best architecture and technical implementation based on the problem at hand.
• Partner with the Listed Sales and Trading team (LST) in ESTAR to implement functional enhancements to UI's and/or Microservices as needed. These are existing components written in either Python, C# and/or C++ that may require updates periodically.
• Assist in the development and adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices that enhance the monitoring and observability of these components.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of work experience, using either Python, C/C++ and/or C#.
• Strong Computing fundamentals including a clear understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Software Design and core programming concepts.
• Experience in application design, and maintenance.
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) core concepts and capabilities.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix.
• Interest in analyzing and solving problems around application access, and data access.
• Ability to work independently, self-driven, with a sense of ownership and pride on delivering quality work.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to speak to a business and/or technical audience.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with some cloud deployment and tool chain (Docker, Artifactory, Bazel).
• Understanding of open-source server platforms (Redis, MongoDB, Kafka, ElasticSearch).
• Experience in configuration of Open Telemetry stack (Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Loki).
• Broad understanding of DevOps tools and technologies (Git, Jenkins, Ansible).
