Division Profile:

The Wealth Management Platforms organization manages digital platforms and experiences across the Advisor, Workplace and Direct channels, ensuring that our capabilities lead the industry and are delivered and integrated seamlessly.

Position Summary:

The Platform team works closely with Wealth Management product areas, among others, to define and drive the Advisor and Client experience. We are in search of a talented and enthusiastic Business Analyst to join our team.

As a Business Analyst on the Advisory Platforms team, you will be responsible for supporting the team that delivers the next-generation Wealth Management platform for Morgan Stanley Advisors focusing on Advisory account onboarding and maintenance, fees and billing, trading platforms, and investment data and asset manager experience. This role will primarily support strategic enhancements to the Advisory account onboarding and maintenance process, with opportunities to support other key program deliverables.

As a smart, passionate, detail-oriented Business Analyst who loves interacting with a diverse set of people solving problems and challenging the status quo, you will be working directly with Advisory Platforms Product Owner(s) and cross-functional partners including Platforms, Business, Technology, Compliance, Risk, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
  • Work within agile teams and support the Product Owner by helping to manage the prioritization of initiatives for the squad and document epics and user stories
  • Participate in platform design, development, and monitor implementation timelines
  • Support requirements elicitation and review meetings with stakeholders including platform, business, legal, risk, compliance, UX and technology
  • Elaborate on critical use cases and assist with technical stories
  • Map out critical workflows and processes
  • Partner and collaborate with other areas when squad is a dependency to plan and monitor overall program releases
  • Specify acceptance criteria and scenarios and perform user acceptance testing
  • Prepare presentations, user demos, and status updates
  • Assist with deployment support, which may include working with partners to update training materials and identify pilot user population

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field is required
  • Experience analyzing and documenting product and software requirements in a waterfall, agile and hybrid software development setting
  • Experience in investment Advisory platforms or wealth management is preferred
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Self-starter efficient at managing multiple tasks concurrently under deadline constraints and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
