2025 Investment Management Summer Analyst Program - Data & Analytics (Boston)

General Description

The Investment Management Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week program consisting of one week of training and nine weeks working within a specific IM team. Across all IM teams, the curriculum is designed to equip Summer Analysts with the fundamental skills they need to be successful in IM. During the 10-week program, Summer Analysts experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley by performing a role similar to a Full-Time Analyst.

This role within the MSIM Data and Analytics group will work with product owners and data analysts on various projects throughout the summer.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Understand Analytics & Business Intelligence framework and partner with technology team to build & deploy reports and dashboards.
  • Work closely with the analytics product owners to deliver new analytics platform product features.
  • Analyze and document business processes, data flows, and data usage to support data process re-engineering and data governance.
  • Interact with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and address data-related needs and issues.
  • Review and analyze data quality issues. Coordinate with data owners and other teams to identify root-cause of data quality issues and implement solutions.

Job Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026
  • Ability to perform data analysis using tools such as SQL, Python
  • Knowledge in data modeling and cloud-based data storage is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to function independently and to collaborate effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, reliable

Expected base pay rate for the role will be $43.27 per hour at the commencement of employment. However, base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
