The Portfolio Solutions Group is a comprehensive multi-asset business, with activity across all asset strategies and types (traditional and alternative), through solutions that span fully liquid (equity, fixed income and commodities), comprehensive (public and private assets) and fully private portfolios (private equity, private real assets, private debt and hedge funds). Offerings are delivered via a managed portfolio or model, in discretionary or advisory format. The team's expertise lies in partnering with institutions, intermediaries, family offices and high net worth investors to understand their unique needs and crafting solutions to help them achieve their overall investment objectives.

PSG Portfolio Specialists drive new business development, service existing clients and perform research to create content for distribution. The Portfolio Specialist will work with the team on client requests, answering specific questions and performing regular portfolio reviews, as well as acting as a liaison with the investment teams, internal departments (sales, marketing, product development, etc) and clients or prospects.

The internship will commence in Jan 2025 and last for six months with the possibility to extend the duration to twelve months.

TRAINING PROGRAM

You will receive on-the-job training and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Play a key support role in PSG business development by updating and customizing marketing materials, gathering new business opportunities, and serving as a resource for new and existing client inquiries.
  • Assist in the completion of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and other client questionnaires.
  • Alongside other Portfolio Specialists on the team, contribute to managing existing client relationships and help coordinate client deliverables and review meetings.
  • Support the production of thoughtful and timely market outlook, portfolio activity and thematic investment content for existing and prospective clients.
  • Work alongside sales and other Portfolio Specialists on the team to help organize roadshows and meetings to promote the PSG offerings and drive new business.
  • Perform market research to keep abreast of product trends and ensure PSG's product suite is innovative and in line with sales teams' expectations.
  • Liaise with other teams within MSIM, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, to ensure successful coordination and servicing of client accounts, particularly as it relates to materials.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Portfolio Specialist team on ad-hoc requests. Liaise with Mumbai-based colleagues on client reports, market commentaries, and required client deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS
  • You have graduated from university or able to take the time off to commit for a full-time internship role for six to twelve months if you are currently in study
  • With knowledge of multi-asset and/or alternative investments beneficial
  • You are fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You are able to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks without reminders
  • You are self-motivated, curious and have entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player who enjoys working with others and reaching out proactively throughout the firm to gather information
  • Experience with other data science tools or programming languages is a plus
  • Willingness to provide exceptional ongoing and bespoke service requires flexibility, meeting tight timelines, and thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience reviewing complex financial data sets is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
