2025 Investment Management Full-time Analyst Program - Product Development Private Funds / Alternatives (New York)

The MSIM Alternatives Product Development team is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fund launches for private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds. The team partners with portfolio manager during the creation, design, and execution phases of these fund launches. The team leads initiatives with the sales and distribution team on competitor analysis The team also equips the Sales and Distribution Teams with current market updates, competitor analysis and trends in efforts to develop and maintain the product development pipeline.

The Product Development Analyst will assist in the development and enhancement of alternatives investment products and services. The Analyst will work closely with senior team members and cross-functional groups to help drive innovative solutions and support the successful launch and management of alternatives products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with investment team to understand strategy and opportunity
  • Assist in conducting market research to gather insights on trends, customer needs, and competitive activities
  • Help analyze competitor research data to identify opportunities for new products or improvements to existing offerings
  • Aid in drafting product requirements and specifications based on input from senior team members
  • Contribute to product development process by assisting in product design and launch activities including accessing sales demand, determine optimal fund structures and fund terms, preparing product approval materials and reviewing fund legal documents
  • Help coordinate with internal teams (marketing, operations, compliance, etc.) to ensure smooth product development and adherence to product launch timelines
  • Assist in tracking product performance and preparing reports on key metrics and findings
  • Utilize data analysis tools to support decision-making and product enhancements
  • Assist in managing project documentation, timelines, and other administrative tasks
  • Provide support in organizing meetings, preparing presentations, and special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field and will graduate between December 2024 and June 2025
  • 0-2 years of experience in product development, financial analysis, or a related role within the banking or financial services industry
  • Basic analytical skills with a willingness to learn data analysis and financial modeling techniques
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus but not required

Expected base pay rate for the role will be $43.27 per hour at the commencement of employment. However, base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
