Role and Responsibilities
Morgan Stanley's New York Summer Associate Generalist Pool program provides the opportunity to work on a range of projects across groups, including Consumer Retail, Financial Sponsors, Healthcare, Industrials, Media & Communications, M&A, Power & Utilities, Private Capital Advisory, Technology, and Transportation. If you have experience or interest in a particular sector, we attempt to accommodate your preference when making project assignments. Our New York-based Real Estate, Latin America and Financial Institutions Groups, as well as regional offices, hire directly.

Following successful completion of the Summer Associate Pool Program, candidates will receive an offer to join a specific group following the completion of their studies.
Responsibilities may include:
- Managing and assisting in the execution of investment banking deals and transactions.
- Performing financial analysis, strategic business analysis and detailed industry research.
- Contributing to team discussions and client meetings.
- Preparing and delivering client presentations in a clear and compelling manner.
Qualifications and Skills
- You are an MBA or a J.D. student graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
- You have at least two to three years of work experience (preferred).
- You can manage multiple projects, provide complicated financial analysis, and develop appropriate corporate finance solutions.
- You have excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
Expected base pay rate for the role will be $175,000 USD per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
